Studio
We are a wellness signal in the world of noise.
01 / The practice
Fewer clients. Longer relationships.
Sepia Studios started with a simple frustration: a category where every brand makes the same promise in the same words, and design work that looks beautiful and moves nothing. We took the opposite bet.
We work with brands in rest, movement, food and care: the categories people turn to when they want to feel more like themselves. That work carries an unusual weight. Someone deciding who to trust with their sleep, their skin or their mind reads a brand far more closely than they will ever read an advertisement. Being heard in that moment is not about volume. It is about being the one voice that says something specific.
So we think hard, then we move fast. We take three to five engagements a year, we stay for the second and third year, and we turn down the projects that only want a look. Every studio claims to be selective. We would rather prove it than say it.
02 / Principles
Four rules we refuse to break.
-
i
Signal over volume
Attention is not won by being the loudest thing in the feed. It is won by being the only brand in the category saying something specific enough to repeat.
-
ii
Evidence before adjectives
In well-being, language is a duty of care. We write only what can be substantiated, then we measure whether it actually persuades anyone.
-
iii
Fewer, better things
One considered page beats a sitemap nobody reads. We reduce until removing one more element would break something.
-
iv
Care is in the detail
The kerning of a headline, the weight of a paper stock, the half-second before a page responds. People feel these long before they notice them.
03 / Method
Good work starts with listening and then picks up speed. Two weeks with your practitioners, your customers and your unglamorous operational reality, and then we open a design file. Strategy that never becomes a made thing is just a document.
04 / Together
How an engagement actually runs.
-
01
Listen / 2 weeks
Interviews, audits and a hard look at the category. We come back with a written point of view, not a mood board.
-
02
Frame / 3 weeks
Positioning, narrative and one design direction. Not three. One, argued properly, and sharpened with you rather than presented at you.
-
03
Make / 6 to 10 weeks
Identity, site, packaging, launch campaign. Built, documented and handed over with everything your team needs to keep it intact.
-
04
Grow / ongoing
Growth work on retainer: testing, iterating and compounding what launched. The first year after launch is what decides whether any of it survives.
Be clear. Then be everywhere.
